The incident took place around 11:35 a.m., Monday, April 22, when Greenwich Police were contacted about a boat overturned by Lucas Point, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.

Marine officers responded and discovered a 46-year-old male who was holding onto the hull of an overturned boat, Slusarz said.

The man was taken ashore by Greenwich police officers where he was examined by medical personnel for exposure to the cold.

An investigation determined that the boat overturned while the man was placing a mooring. The boat later sank.
